Are you a new librarian, paralegal, or researcher?  Do you want to brush up on your legal research skills?  Join us for the LLSDC Legal Research Institutes, two full-day workshops designed to introduce the concepts of legal research and prepare participants to perform research using legal resources.  The workshops are designed and taught by experienced librarians from local law schools, law firms, and the Library of Congress.  The LRI is open to anyone and would be especially beneficial to those who are new to legal research or are information professionals looking to sharpen their legal research skills.

The 2019 Legal Research Institutes will be held at Georgetown Law Library on Thursday, March 14, and Friday, March 15. Participants may sign up for a single day or join us for both days for a comprehensive learning experience.

Register For:

Institute I (Thursday, March 14) will cover case law, statutes, and secondary sources.

Institute II (Friday, March 15) will cover legislative history, administrative law, and cost-effective research.

NOTE:  In order to attend both days you must register for both days separately. 

Registration fees:

LLSDC Members: $50 for one day, $100 for both days.

LLSDC Student Members: $25 for one day, $50 for both days.

Non-members: $100 for one day, $200 for both days.

Details: The Institutes run from 8:30am to approximately 4:30pm on both days. Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided. The Georgetown Law Library is located at 111 G Street, NW, Washington, DC 20001.
