Legal Research Institutes 2021
Tuesday, March 16, 2021, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM EDT
Category: Events

Are you a new librarian, paralegal, or researcher?  Do you want to brush up on your legal research skills?  Join us for the LLSDC Legal Research Institutes, workshops designed to introduce the concepts of legal research and prepare participants to perform research using legal resources.  The workshops are designed and taught by experienced librarians from local law schools, law firms, and the government.  The LRI is open to anyone and would be especially beneficial to those who are new to legal research or are information professionals looking to sharpen their legal research skills.

The 2021 Legal Research Institutes will have a different format this year.  In order to hopefully combat Zoom fatigue, we will be holding LRI 2021 as a lunchtime series from March 8-10 and March 16-18.  Sessions will be held from 12-1:30pm each day.

Institute II (March 16-18) will cover legislative history, administrative law, and cost-effective research.

Because of the new format, we are also able to allow registration for individual sessions:

LRI Legislative History will be held on March 16th.
LRI Administrative Law will be held on March 17th.
LRI Cost-Effective Research will be held on March 18th.

Classes will be capped at 20 people to facilitate better discussion.

Registration fees:

LLSDC Members: $25 for LRI I or II, $10 per individual session
LLSDC Student Members: $20 for LRI I or II, $8 per individual session
Non-members: $50 for LRI I or II, $20 per individual session

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Pam Lipscomb or Mary Kate Hunter.
