The LLSDC Executive Board meeting was held Monday, December 16, 2013, at noon at Thompson Hine. The Treasurer report was received and approved and Pam Lipscomb noted we have around 550 members in LLSDC at this time. The transition to the new website is almost complete and it is expected that access to the old site will be turned off in early 2014. Mary Kate Hunter reported that the LLSDC archive files, which are currently being stored at Catholic University’s Law Library, will be picked up and moved to storage at Jones Day. In the coming months, a team of volunteers will be put together to go through and index the organization’s archived files. Alicia Pappas, by email, reported that the LLSDC Holiday party was a great success and all those attending had positive feedback regarding the location and food. Thanks to all who were able to attend! Alicia also noted that the planning for the 75th Anniversary party being held in 2014 is still ongoing and electronic invitations should be going out in late January. Finally, the Board discussed providing two grants for LLSDC members to attend the AALL Leadership Academy in the spring of 2014. It was voted on and decided to award such grants and one will be in honor of Harva Sheeler and another one time grant, to attend AALL, will be awarded in honor of Constance Dickson. The meeting was adjourned at 1 pm and the next Board meeting will be held on January 7, 2014. And, for those of you who are interested, here is a link to last month's Board Meeting Minutes. Enjoy!
