The LLSDC Executive Board meeting was held Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at noon at George Washington University. The first item discussed was the LLSDC election. It was reported that the election was going well and results were expected to be announced the next day, Wednesday, April 23, 2014. The Treasurer and Membership report was received and approved by the Board. Ed O’Rourke announced that the Scholarships and Grant cycle was closed for the spring and that four applications were sent to the committee for review. Scott Bailey and Mary Kate Hunter reported that AALL Lobby Day was exciting and a well organized event. The Board did discuss the possibility of publishing the event more next year and perhaps holding a brown bag session to discuss the issues AALL was advocating for that year for member’s who may be interested.

Alicia Pappas reported that the Town Hall meeting is tentatively scheduled for May 7, 2014, and will be held at Jenner & Block, more details to follow. The Closing Reception is also coming up and will be held sometime near the end of May and more information will be coming out soon.

In preparation for the AALL Annual Meeting this summer, in San Antonio, Texas, the Board approved funds for Alicia to purchase items for LLSDC’s table that will be set up during the conference. Items to be purchased will include a table banner and items to hand out to attendees.

Finally, Alicia noted discussed two other events that will be happening this summer: there will be another Washington Nationals baseball game event on June 17, 2014, and a Trivia event with DC/SLA and possibly DCLA. Details regarding how to get your baseball tickets will be coming to you by email in a few weeks.

The meeting was adjourned at 1:08 pm and the next Board meeting will be held on May 20, 2014, at Morrison & Foerster, LLP. And, for those of you who are interested, here is a link to last month's Board Meeting Minutes. Enjoy!
