A goal of LLSDC is to create opportunities for members to come together and share challenges and ideas while creating the opportunity to collaborate and support fellow library professionals meet the “New Normal.” In pursuit of this goal, the organization welcomes opportunities to learn from members with experiences and observations that will help us meet our own challenges and goals.
Right now, Librarians around the country & beyond are looking for ways to better coordinate their efforts and collaborate. One way many firms are approaching this is to create a centralized research team approach for all or part of the day/night. For many, Outlook or the IT help desk software seem to be the only options to facilitate this.
However, Sarah Clark Kavanagh of Topaz Research recognized this challenge and developed Topaz Quatrove, a just-released Research Request Tracking and Knowledge Base tool. She worked with Filip Popovic, Director of Topaz Development, to build a new software approach for research request tracking that also can create a knowledge base that’s agile and flexible; meeting the needs of the ever-changing requirements law librarians face when it comes to providing service 24/7, supporting profitability analysis and communicating the Library’s value to management.
Topaz Quatrove is intended to blend with existing workflow and build greater efficiencies, create more attorney-support options and help libraries create and meet their strategic goals.
A Librarian user states, “Quatrove lets me use my own knowledge and experience to provide and communicate high-level consulting to my firm in a way never before possible.” Another user said, “Topaz is my translator; helping me speak and communicate my value to management!”
Please join the discussion of research support challenges and solutions. Bring your own experiences to the table and let’s work together to create great solutions!
